Ticket types & price templates

In Tixly a ticket type is the name for a price category. It is created once and can then be used in an unlimited number of events, and can be priced individually per event. It is also possible to create price templates if there are multiple events with the same price structure.

Create ticket types

To create a new ticket type, navigate to Administration > Tickets > Ticket types and click Add ticket type in the top right corner.

Information

  1. Name

    1. Ticket type name is visible in sales view (online and Box Office), administration, reports and on the tickets.
  2. Group

    1. A group is used for filtering options in reports. We recommend that you at least use the groups: Standard, Subscription, Free tickets and Discounts.
Groups are created via Administration > Tickets > Groups. Create all the desired groups before creating the ticket types.
  3. Type

    1. Defines if the ticket type should be used for normal events or in subscriptions.
      • Standard sales: Ticket type can only be used in the regular sales flow.
      • Subscription: Ticket type can only be used in the subscription flow.
      • Both: Ticket type can be used in both sales flows. Typically only used when the ticket price is the same for both regular sales and subscription sales.
  4. Default

    1. If set to Yes, the ticket type is shown as the first ticket type in sales (online and Box Office). Only one ticket type can be set to default.
  5. Online quantity rule

    1. If a ticket type can only be used with the same online quantity rule it can be set on ticket type level and will always be applied when it is added to an event. The online quantity rule also be added or edited on event level.

      • 0,8-20: The customer can purchase between 8 and 20 tickets. No less than 8 and not more than 20.
      • 0,2,4,6,10-20: The customer can purchase 2, 4, 6 or between 10 and 20 tickets.
  6. Position

    1. A position can be set to position the ticket type relative to one another.
  7. Offset Every Seat

    1. Used together with social distancing. If set to Yes, every seat that is sold will have a distance from each other, not just distance between orders.

Layout

Under the layout tab it is possible to change the ticket type name that will be displayed on the ticket. If nothing is filled out, the name from the information tab is used. It is also possible to add some extra information about the ticket type on the ticket.

It does not change the name online, nor is the info text displayed in the online flow.

Scanning

Set scan notification to yes if you want to add a note. Then when a ticket with a scan notification is scanned, the configured message will show up at the top of the screen. There are two levels of severity: normal and severe, which defines how the message is displayed. The pop up either disappears after a few seconds (normal) or stays displayed until the next scan (severe).

Translations

Add translations for online and ticket elements to activated languages.
Translations are also included in the API.

Access Rights

It is possible to enable access rights for ticket types. This allows you to define which specific users or organisations should have access to the ticket type. If no users are selected, all users with sales access will have access to the ticket type, provided they have access to an event that uses the type.

Price templates

To create a new price template, navigate to Administration > Tickets > Price templates and click Add price template in the upper right corner.
