How to add benefits to a membership

Memberships and customer tags are a great way to grant customers access to special benefits.  

The customer needs to have a web user to be able to access the benefits. 

Connect tag to membership

Make sure that all customers that buy a membership (or event / subscription) are tagged automatically via Administration > Customers > Tags. Under the tab Connections it is possible to set that the tag is automatically connected to a customer when buying a specific item.


Give acces to benefits

Different benefits can be granted via a customer tag: 

1. Special offer 

2. Pre-sale access

3. Member only ticket types

4. Basket rules


Connect a tag to a special offer

It is possible to connect a tag, which is connected to a membership, to a special offer. This way all customers with this membership have access to special offers in their online profile. Find more about creating a special offer here.

Go to Administration > Events > Special offer. The data of the special offer can be found under de Information tab. In the tab Advanced a customer tag can be connected. Set Use password to Yes and choose the tag in Customer tag. Multiple tags can be connected to one special offer link.

Pre-sale access

Give customers with specific tags pre-sale access. Think about giving Friends of the Theater the opportunity to buy tickets early, which gives them acces to the best available seats.

Go to Administration > Events > Data and open the event. Under the tab Internet+ the tag that gets early acces should be added in Customer tag. Set Override to Yes and select when customers with the tag should be able to buy tickets. This means the date for start sale will be overruled by the date set for the tag. 


Member only ticket types 

It is possible to give customers with a tag access to special ticket types that are not available to the general public. Make sure to connect the ticket type to the customer tag as a benefit and to add the ticket type to all events it should be available on. 

Go to Administration > Customers > Tags. Under the tab Benefits it is possible to select which special ticket types customers with the tag should have access to, and set rules and restrictions on the use of the ticket type. 

Then go to Administration > Events > Data and open the event. Add the ticket type and price under the Halls and prices tab. The acces right for the ticket type should be Box Office only. Under the Internet+ tab the tag should be added to Customer tag

Customers who are logged in will now be able to see the special ticket type, whereas regular customers won't be able to see it. 


Basket rules

Customer tags and memberships can be used as a condition when creating a basket rule. The possibilities the basket rules have to offer are endless. It's for instance possible to give discounts and to not charge an order or delivery fee.
